AND..... the Results are in.....

Hubby retook the photo of the wild Verbena and his came out so much better.... I wish we had smellovision... lol

This is a large cast iron kettle that used to belong to Hubby's Mother.  I have coveted it for a very long time... Hubby drilled a few extra holes in the bottom and the GrandLittles and i planted it last week... pink and purple and white and red Petunias and some Sweet Potato Vine... so much fun... I know i'am in great danger of the SPV sweet potato vine taking over the pot... i will have to keep an eye on that... The problem was i couldn't find the SPV when i wanted it so i started buying Petunias... then i found it... lol
I never look online for the results of the Art Competition... I like to walk up and hopefully see a Ribbon... but for some reason this year I did peek... The above painting which is my first of any kind of Landscape painting got Honorable Mention... Not what you hope for but they could have not given it anything... so they thought enough of it to give it that..
The Gold Feather Windchime won a Blue                         Ribbon!!!  So happy about that!!
Mr. Owl is bringing home an Honorable Mention too....  I'm looking forward to going to the event and seeing what he was up against because i really like him...
Another windchime made of glass and metal lids that i used alcohol inks on them... strung on fishingline and used glass marble beads to help me string it...
It is bringing home a second place win...
This was under dry brush ceramics... this is the first year in a couple years that i have not entered a dragon... I don't know if you can tell but their eyes are glossy... and they each have a gold tooth.. They are bringing home a second place...

I'm looking forward to going up to the StockShow/Carnival / Rodeo and seeing my exhibits on the wall and in glass cases with their ribbons... I'm still on the hunt for a Best In Show Ribbon... maybe next year! Hugs! deb

  1. Good afternoon, Congrats on all your ribbons that is pretty cool I didn't remember this event being this early in the year. I am glad your owl got noticed
I love your wild verbena-I may search for some seeds of that next year.
Is Texas getting of this crazy storm that is coming though this week?
    Hugs Kathy

  2. Congratulations!!! Kudos!!! I am so glad to see your talents recognized! I knew I loved the feather windchime, but I hadn't seen that bright colorful lid windchime. Does that mean you got both first and second place in that category?! (They both should have gotten a blue ribbon!) So happy for you! Still smiling!! :) :)

  6. Beautiful photos and art! And good for you removing the above comments, I do the same for this one. I found you via a comment you left on another blog that I just found today where the lady is discouraged, mentioning that Trump wants to annex Canada. Annexing means that he wants to make us (yes, warm greetings from Montreal, Canada) the 51st state, where we will be an American state rather than a country of our own as we are now, with 10 provinces and territories. I agree with you, he is an idiot, and I can speak for myself, I love the U.S. and the people there, we have always been friends and neighbours for so long now...that is until Trump decided he wants to take our country. :( That is the same as our Canadian Prime Minister wanting to take the United States and making it Canadian, adding to our provinces. We Canadian love our American friends and neighbours and are happy to keep things this way. I have noticed that many in the U.S. feel the same way. Trump is just being a jerk. I just wanted to come over to visit you and leave a nice comment, because after reading your comment on the other blog, I felt the need to let you know that I agree with you. You have a lovely blog. :)

  7. Hi Deb, Crafty Violet is where I found your comment, so sorry, I just wanted you to know and when I made the above comment I wasn't exactly sure. I am 68 years old, and have a very good memory, but I have so much going on today...please forgive me for this extra comment, and I hope you are having a lovely week. :)
