T stands for Photo Heavy Post....

AAAaaahhh T partiers... I try to avoid loooonng posts as i know we have a lot of visits to make but i hope you'll bear with me this time... I posted the above Mermaid picture 2 weeks ago and alot of comments mentioned it as a painting and i wanted you know that it is colored pencils smoothed over with Gamsol.  It is an alternative to turpentine and smooths the pencils until it looks almost like paint. Thank you for all your lovely compliments 😄

Ya' all know where the Koi painting started...... and you've seen it along the way... 

Now it is totally complete and in its frame and ready for its debut in the Stock Show.. Yep, i wood burned the frame and stained it different colors.. What do you think? 

Hubs has not been sitting on his laurels... I simply ADORE those cute little feet he put on his book shelf..  I can't wait to see it finished! My hubby who never read a book before heart surgery 3 years ago has read nearly 100 books and building his own book shelf.... mind blown! 

 My golf game is coming along great! I' am definitely not a star pupil but i'am improving all the time.. i think i drive hubby a little crazy because my full attention is not on golf the whole time.. I'm taking pictures of this and that.. ' Look at that cool tree! ' 'Oh my gosh look at all the yellow butterflies on the green!'... um.. yeah.. this last time  was ' Look at the moss! Look how GREEN  it is! ' OK people i live in west TX.. green is not a color i see often around here!! 

It was the most amazing thing...  A water tank had a leak all the way around on a seam and it  must have been the perfect environment!  I could have spent an hour going around and around that tank taking pictures.. 

Instead i took a couple and went and hit my ball.. lol 

Since we last talked hubby and i took a trip to Fredericksburg, TX... You know our favorite little tourist trap.... lol  .. So you KNOW i stopped to get a little 'cup of heaven' for the road trip!  That would be.. 'Venti Skinny Carmel Macchiato upside down with  a little bit of whip'... My daughter taught me that phrase many moons ago and its still the only thing i order at Starbucks. YUM! 

We go through several small towns to get to Fredericksburg.  To me the courthouses are just beautiful in these small towns. Above is the one in Brady, TX...

          This guy was HUGE and just amazing!

This is one of the amazing things i saw at Trade Days in Fredericksburg.. Such a cute little stove. We came home with a cast iron shelf i plan to use for plants... I forgot to take a photo of it though.. next week! I think its going to clean up so cool!  Thank you so much for coming along. I have a few more pics of the trip but i'll save that for next week.. 

If you made it this far.....   I'll tell you a little secret.. then it will be a secret no more...  i entered an essay contest !!!!  On a whim... 750 words... 2-3 pages double spaced.. The theme?   " I write when i feel?" ... I barely squeaked out the 750 words but i did it!  I have to be present to win and thats 10:30am Saturday.. Cross your fingers for me..

T stands for Running Late........

 

...........Running late for the Tparty has kind of become the norm.... i need to change my 'evil' ways of waiting until the last minute!!  On another note... Ferrari has bloomed!!! 

It is a MUCH larger bloom than Arabian Night and a deeper red i think. Ferrari will give me 4 blooms where Arabian Night gave me 5 on each stalk albeit smaller blooms..  

The wind is whipping outside.... today and tomorrow we are under a wind advisory... then another cold front comes through.. brrrr... 

In other news a friend of mine wanted to use my 'Tribal Women' for their Birthday Party invitations with a few minor tweaks... the addition of the word PARTY and Family. So I made her up a handful of cards each colored slightly different  so she could pick one to make copies .  

In addition i made stickers to go on the backs of the cards with my name and email.... the little bee is embossed on there so its a little raised and the gold is a dot of gold metallic paint. 

Speaking of wind... this was taken near the Golf Course where we play  ... wonky telephone poles are the norm around here.. but this one is a little extreme! 

Hubs and i played in a Golf Tournament on Saturday... 'Guys and Dolls'... lol .. um.. we came in last.... ah well... It was fun and a beautiful day!

And last but not least a T pot for the T party. This one caught my eye while walking around Tuesday Morning... I hope everyone has a beautiful Valentines Day and a lovely T day! I'll be around to visit! Hugs! deb

T stands for ..... I missed you too!

 

.............. i missed all you T partiers last week!!! I just seem to be playing catch up lately... not really busy , busy but busy...lol!   Above is an entry of mine into the stock show... its colored pencil and penwork.. I LOVE it and even if it doesn't win anything ( A little too whimsical and illustrative for the judges )i'm tickled that alot of people will get to see it..  Wish i could be a little mouse in the corner or fly on the wall to hear any comments..

I came across this dish in the Dollar Tree.... LOVE!

We had a pretty good freeze last week... I think our low was 23 F... I know i know.. thats nothing compared to what others have seen but to stay below freezing for 3 days was not pleasant.. faucets dripping and flushing toilets every so often to keep pipes from freezing... At least we didn't get down to 10 F like our last freeze back in December.. 

Here's a continuation of the story from my last post.. Remember the inkwells?  That i wouldn't spend the money on?  Well that was at an Estate Sale.. What happens to all the things that don't sell in an Estate Sale? Well on this occasion , someone who does perpetual yard sales (thankgoodness i don't have 'that' neighbor).. bought it all up and hubby and i came across that yard sale the other day.. Thats never happened to me before.. They were  from the Ukraine maybe and had the most wonderful accents.. Anyway there were those inkwells.. nearly every one.. for waaaay cheaper.. 

Ofcourse the one with the frogs and snail shell i fell in love with was not there but i did bring this little one home.. i only paid $3!  Would have been at least $15 at the Estate Sale.. Now, my question goes out to Kathy at the Lake  or maybe CJ.. After i pour the ink in there won't it dry up quickly? Is there a cap or something missing on it? If so i wonder if i can get one. Anyway.. thought you might know... 

Quick update on the CoatRack... I have a little more sanding and then staining to do but i wanted to show you how its coming along.. Found the trim at Lowe's..
