I'm so sorry to drink and run this week for the T party... Things have been so busy... So just a short, quick post...
I've been clearing out some space in my craftroom.. Something i've been meaning to do and just procrastinating.. I just have too much stuff... Well hubby is moving in to his shop!! Woohoo!!! and he could really use another shelving unit.. So all week i've been rearranging things in the craftroom... finding new homes for things (hello Kathy).. throwing some stuff away.. Just reevaluating you know.. I hope you can see my cup of coffee there... I'm happy to report i did get that shelving unit clear! We put up plywood all around the shop walls, caulked it in good to keep out any bugs etc... then painted it all white.. 2 coats.. so its nice and bright for him..Now he's moving in!!! and i'm pooped.. He's off playing golf this 4th of July.... Me? I'm going to play in my craftroom.. Amazing how much lighter it feels in there.. Never realized how much all that stuff was weighing on me until it was gone.. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.. If you celebrate i hope you had a happy 4th.. and if you don't i hope you have a good week.. I'll be around to visit!! Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb
Happy early T to you as well-hugs I love your husband's space, he will love it once it gets all moved in. Larry really lost most all of his space when we moved here-thankfully there was a two car garage here at the new lake house so he was able to move some things-but he is really not healthy enough to do allot anymore. He kept bugging me to downsize my craft space but I just was not ready to at the time--I am getting closer to seriously downsizing some items.
ReplyDeletegood for you clearing a shelving unit-those are expensive-we ended up buying industrial ones from Sams club-online-that are really nice. Happy T and stay cool if you are super hot too hugs from the lake
ps looking at your photos again-that shelving looks like ours-only we bought the longer shelves. I love these they are super sturdy and clean up well too
DeleteYay on gaining both your creative spaces! Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm still cleaning through my craft room and purge, arranging and then rearranging. So I can relate Deb. I'm hoping to be finally finished tomorrow because I am really ready to start making some art on a regular basis again. I think it sounds like you had a great holiday, sometimes some alone time making art is the best way to spend a day. Happy T day Deb. hugs--Erika
ReplyDeleteParing down to essentials has a tempting sound. I am not close to where you are, though.

Happy 4th Deb. I agree, too much is too much sometimes but man I have a hard time letting things go! I just know as soon as I give something away, I'll need it! I think its partly growing up poor and living way out in the country, even as an adult, so we learned to keep everything because there was no money to buy more and no way to get to the city to get it. No Amazon back then. I have managed to pass on quite a few things this summer though so there's a start!
ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day. We still have a short amount of time to say that. I love your husband's shop. I am SO envious of that sand blaster he has. I've wanted one for years, but have no place to put it, much less my drill press I have no place to set up. Please show the shoo when he has it finished and everything put in place. Others may not be interested, but I would be.
ReplyDeleteNice that you were able to purge some things and felt good about it. I had to purge, too, but it was forced, since I had a flood in my basement. You can't keep wet books, etc. for fear of mold.
Thanks for sharing your purging, your husband's shop, and your coffee with us for T this not quite Tuesday, dear friend.
BTW, the asterisk is for the party on the 11/12 this month.
LOL, "reevaluting!
ReplyDeleteMy brother read an application of mine and exclaimed, "no one says 'evaluate'!"
I read this so often, I always think of him and laugh!
And yay to get some things cleared off - I´ll have to do that, too! I agree, one feels lighter then - to a happy T-Day, hugs :-)
What a pretty mug! I'm impressed by the size of that shop. What a great space!
ReplyDeleteHappy T Tuesday
That is a mighty nice workshop your hubby has got there! He will be so pleased when he can start using it. Men do need a space, just as we need a place to play.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about getting rid of stuff. I am a hoarder too. The difference is that it is difficult to get hold of craft supplies (I have to order them from abroad) so I'm hanging on to what I've got for the mo.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
It does feel very freeing to get rif of some stuff, doesn't it? I regularly go through my stuff - some I donate to a thrift store that specializes in crafts, others I put in a "free" box in my driveway. It's usually gone within a couple days. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteA day of crafting by oneself sounds like a great way to spend the holiday. Glad that you were able to clean things out and be happy with the result. Less clutter always makes a better environment to be creative.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
He has a great big space, now! Good for you getting a "lighter" craft room. Yes, I should start purging, too! I am overwhelmed in my space because there is so much stuff in there! I saw your cup, so you are in! Happy T Day!
ReplyDeletewow, what a difference from the shell it was before. you guys set your mind to it and get it done. looks cool too. i like that it has the natural light. do you get a small corner for some of your stuff? i know you worked so hard and when you think about all that hard work, it pays off to see the finished product. and i like your choice of fried met, was that Henry's? i am an oatmeal fan myself. have fun helping him take care of his NEW area.
ReplyDeleteHmmm! I'm still at the procrastination stage! Maybe when I am back from my trip I'll get on with something! I hope you show the progress of both spaces! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
